Emily G. Coughlin, a founding partner of the law firm of Coughlin Betke, LLP, provides knowledgeable and astute representation to her clients in Boston, Massachusetts, Massachusetts statewide, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Ms. Coughlin's civil litigation practice is broad, divided between business and commercial law, construction and environmental law, employment law, fire and casualty, insurance, premises liability, products liability, professional liability, and tort law.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Coughlin first received her undergraduate degree from Brown University, from which she graduated cum laude. She then matriculated at Suffolk University Law School, graduating cum laude with her Juris Doctor. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Ms. Coughlin is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.
Ms. Coughlin's work experience has been rich and varied. Her successes as an attorney in her more than 26 years of practice have led her to receive the respect of her clients and peers alike. She served as a Massachusetts state representative for three years and now is in the midst of a three-year term serving as a national director on the board of directors of the Defense Research Institute.

Ms. Coughlin is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, an organization in which membership is made by invitation only following an intensive review by other lawyers.
